Twitterverse Calls Out As Kane Williamson Helps SRH Win With 8 Wickets; Break GT .’s undefeated streak

The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) led by Kane Williamson up front ended Gujarat Titans (GT) winning streak by beating them in the 21st match of the ongoing IPL 2022 at DY Patil Sports Academy Stadium in Navi Mumbai on April 11, 2022.

The match was a low-scoring but exciting encounter between the two sides with excellent hitting and bowling opportunities. SRH had entered this match after beating the Chennai Super Kings in their previous match, while Gujarat Titans had won all their three matches so far.

SRH skipper Kane Williamson won the toss and chose to field first, given the possible dew in the evening. The Hardik Pandya-led GT took 162/7 in 20 overs thanks to 50* from captain Hardik Pandya hitting 1 six and 4 fours, and Abhinav Manohar’s whirlwind of 35 in 21 balls with 5 fours and 1 six. Pandya also broke Rishabh Pant’s record for being the fastest Indian to hit the 100 sixes in the Indian Premier League.

Twitterverse reacts as Kane Williamson, Abhishek Sharma and Nicholas Pooran help SRH break GT’s winning streak

In the SRH innings, Abhishek Sharma scored 42 in 32 balls with 6 fours before falling victim to Rashid Khan. Rahul Tripathi then made a superb 17 runs before having to stop in pain after a muscle twitch in his leg.

Kane Williamson went ahead and scored his 18e Half Century Indian Premier League. He scored 57 runs with 4 sixes and 2 fours in 46 balls before his GT counterpart Hardik Pandya took the lead. But then Nicholas Pooran took over and finished the job in style, hitting a six and going undefeated at 34 in 18 balls with 2 sixes and 2 fours.

SRH won the match with 8 wickets in hand and 5 balls to go to record their second consecutive win of the IPL 2022 season. On the other hand, Gujarat Titans undefeated streak came to an end after 3 wins at the trot.
