Previously, Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and chose to field first and made no changes to the XI in play. Likewise, Royal Challengers Bangalore also played the same playing XI from the previous match.
The lead batter of Royal Challengers Bangalore had a terrible start, as in the second over, which was bowled by young left-armer Marco Jansen, they lost the top-3 batters – Faf du Plessis, Virat Kohli and Anuj Rawat. Du Plessis scored 5 runs off 7 balls, while Virat Kohli played for a golden duck and Anuj Rawat for a 2-ball duck.
The Sunrisers Hyderabad’s bowlers didn’t stop there as T Natarajan overtaken Glenn Maxwell (12) in the 5th over, Jagadeesha Suchith produced a two-wicket over by Suyash Prabhudessai (15) and Dinesh Karthik (0) in the 9th over and Umran to Malik sacked Shahbaz Ahmed (7) in the 10th over. Soon the remaining three players were fired by the SRH bowling attack and Royal Challengers Bangalore was bundled for 68.
On 23/4/2013 RCB scored 263 runs on the loss of 5 wickets, on 23/4/2017 RCB was bundled for 49 and now on 23/4/2022 RCB was knocked out for 68. This was also RCB’s second-lowest total in the history of the Indian Premier League.
Meanwhile, T Natarajan and Marco Jansen got 3 wickets each, Jagadeesha Suchith took 2 wickets while Umran Malik and Bhuvneshwar Kumar got one wicket each.
Chasing for goal, young opener Abhishek Sharma went wild against RCB’s bowling unit and skipper Kane Williamson played his natural slow game. Abhishek was sacked by Harshal Patel for 47, but Sunrisers Hyderabad won the match comfortably.
Here’s how Twitter reacted to the 36th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH):
Huge defeat for #RCb inevitable after such a disastrous batting performance. Still well placed in the points table, but Net Run Rate takes a hit. 5 consecutive wins make SRH strong for a place in the play-offs. Key to success Great pace attack handled superbly by Williamson

They may not be performing today, but you have to remember how hard both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli practice and that is why they are still the best batsmen today. So let’s support our champions when they need it most. #TATAIPL #TATAIPL2022 pic.twitter.com/mXRHDau3Qv
