Twitter Responds As PBKS Breaks Gujarat’s 5-Match Win Streak With An Impressive Win

Punjab Kings (PBKS) returned to winning ways on Tuesday with a thumping victory over table toppers, Gujarat Titans (GT), at Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium.

After winning the toss, Hardik Pandya chose to bat first. Shubman Gill’s sudden slump in form continued and he was eloped by Rishi Dhawan’s direct hit in the 3rd over. Wriddhiman Saha and Hardik fell shortly after, leaving GT totter at 44/3.

Sai Sudarshan then hung out with the rest of the batters, all the while piling up the runs. He scored his first fifty and went undefeated until the end to help Gujarat to the 143/8 in 20 overs.

In the pursuit, Jonny Bairstow was promoted in the order when Mayank Agarwal stepped back, but the trick failed when the Englishman was sacked by Mohammed Shami for a 6-ball 1.

Shikhar Dhawan went on to build an 87 run partnership with Bhanuka Rajapaksa. Dhawan scored his 46th IPL fifty and saw him cross the line for the team. There were late fireworks from Liam Livingstone, who skipped 28 runs from Shami’s 4th.

Livingstone hit 3 straight sixes from the first 3 balls, including the biggest (117m) of the IPL 2022 season to date. He went on to take 10 runs in the next 3 balls to take an 8 wicket win with 24 balls left.
