Twitter reacts as Rahul Tripathi hits a sparkling 76 out of 44 in a must-win game for SRH

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) batsman Rahul Tripathi delivered another smashing performance against the Mumbai Indians (MI) on Tuesday in a game to be won at Wankhede Stadium.

SRH needs a win to stay alive in the tournament and they were under pressure to set a goal. Their in-form opener Abhishek Sharma was sacked early, but Priyam Garg took his chance at the top.

Garg, replaces Kane Williamson, scored a solid 26-ball 42 and built a 78-run partnership with Tripathi to stabilize the innings. Garg took the initiative, but when he fell, Tripathi took over.

In the company of Nicholas Pooran, the 31-year-old played beautiful strokes, including his now-trademarked straight loft on the floor. He hit 3 sixes and 9 fours en route to a 44-ball 76.

He’s come to the rescue of SRH so many times and the Ranchi-born right-hander did it all over again. Pooran played his part to perfection, also scoring 38 runs in 22 balls, but it was Tripathi’s knock that stole the spotlight.

Although he fell trying to finish the side right, he had done his job and was left to the middle of the pack to put the finishing touches. When he fell, SRH was 174/4.
