Previously, Mumbai Indians won the toss and chose to field first and made one forced change in the playing XI when Ramandeep Singh replaced Suryakumar Yadav, who was injured and banned from the entire tournament.
On the other hand, Kolkata Knight Riders again made many changes to the playing XI as Varun Chakravarthy, Venkatesh Iyer, Pat Cummins, Sheldon Jackson and Ajinkya Rahane Shivam Mavi, Anukul Roy, Aaron Finch, Baba Indrajith and Harshit replaced Rana in the XI play.
Venkatesh Iyer and Ajinkya Rahane led off the innings for the Knight Riders and all-rounder Daniel Sams led the charge for Mumbai Indians, giving up just 4 runs in the first.
In the 6th over, Kumar Kartikeya got the first break for Mumbai Indians (MI) by sacking lead-off hitter Venkatesh Iyer, who scored 43 runs off 24 balls, including 3 fours and 4 sixes, and at the end of the power play KKR was at 64 / 1.

Kumar Kartikeya took the second wicket of the match by sacking Ajinkya Rahane for 25 in the 11th over. Soon, Shreyas Iyer was cleared by Murugan Ashwin in the 14th over. In the 15th over, Jasprit Bumrah produced a two-wicket over by sacking Andre Russell and Nitish Rana.
Then Bumrah produced a magical triple wicket maiden over in the 18th over of the match by sacking Sheldon Jackson, Pat Cummins and Sunil Narine. With the help of Bumrah’s magic spell and the decent performances of other bowlers, Mumbai Indians were able to limit Kolkata Knight Riders at 165/9.

Chasing for goal, Rohit Sharma was sacked for 2 in the first over from pacer Tim Southee and 19 year old Tilak Varma was sacked by Andre Russell in the 5th over. At the end of the power play, the Mumbai Indians were 37/2.
Wicket-keeper batsman Ishan Kishan and Ramandeep Singh had a partnership of 37 runs before the latter was sacked by Andre Russell in the 11th left.
Then it was MI’s batting horror show as Tim David was sacked by Varun Chakravarthy in the 13th over and Pat Cummins produced a 3-wicket over in the 15th over by sacking Ishan Kishan, Daniel Sams and Murugan Ashwin. In the end, Kieron Pollard failed again and the Mumbai Indians were out for 113.
Here’s how Twitter reacted to IPL 2022 Match between MI and KKR:
If #KKRThe innings ended in a mess after a smashing start, #MI‘s was a disaster right through, ruining Bumrah’s magnificent bowling effort. Mumbai sinks deeper into a hole. KKR is still not at its best. But more importantly still alive in the tournament!

The first time since 2014 that KKR has beaten MI twice in a season, and the first time they have whitewashed both MI and CSK!
WHAT AN UNFORGETTABLE SEASON. Who cares, THIS IS EVEN BIGGER THAN THE TITLE!!

— Lwandile (@Stylztd_1) May 9, 2022
Two things Mumbai Indians have done with a mindless mind.
One is winning the toss and deciding to field first, despite knowing they were weak in the chase.Second, the Pollard era is over. He should kick out of the plahing xi. Make him realize by making a chair for the dugout
