On the other hand, Sunrisers Hyderabad protagonists, T Natarajan and Washington Sundar, were back in the playing XI when they replaced Kartik Tyagi and Jagadeesha Suchith. Also, Marco Jansen was added to the playing XI instead of Farooqi.

Kolkata Knight Riders openers Venkatesh Iyer and Ajinkya Rahane, who batted first, were able to put together just 17 runs as the first was cleared by Marco Jansen in the second over. However, Nitish Rana’s aggressive intent in the power play helped KKR score 55/1.

Jammu and Kashmir accelerated pacer Umran Malik helped SRH make a comeback when he produced a double-wicket over in the 8th over by sacking Nitish Rana and Ajinkya Rahane. He also sent over KKR captain Shreyas Iyer in the 10th.
