Twitter explodes as Rahul Tewatia smashes 2 sixes from last 2 balls to keep Gujarat Titans undefeated start

Rahul Tewatia again mastered a run chase as Gujarat Titans (GT) took their third straight win in the IPL 2022 season.

After restricting Punjab Kings (PBKS) to 189/9, Gujarat always led the chase with Shubman Gill playing beautifully. He played smooth strokes en route to a 59-ball 96.4 runs less than his first century.

By the time he was fired, Gujarat was already in a good position. However, excellent death bowling from Arshdeep Singh and Kagiso Rabada saw 19 runs needed from the last 3 overs.

It was left to Odean Smith to defend and he started well. From the first four balls, he allowed only 7 runs, including an unnecessary overthrow that came back to bite him.

Tewatia was on strike and GT needed 12 runs to win the last 2 balls. Just like last time, Tewatia did the unthinkable and hit 2 straight sixes over the cow corner to finish the game in style.

Earlier, Liam Livingstone again demonstrated his worth with a 27-ball 64 that set the precedent for the innings. Although PBKS continued to lose wickets at regular intervals, they ended up with a par total courtesy of some middle- and lower-order lecherous blows.
