What's a Pell Grant Requirements & Eligibility?

For the 2022-2023 school year, the maximum Pell Grant awarded is for $6,895 dollars.

After President Joe Biden announced this Wednesday his long-awaited plan to provide $10,000 

in student debt cancellation for millions of Americans and new measures to lower the burden of repayment for their remaining federal student debt, this is what you must know.

Applicants must show a financial need, being a U.S. citizen or an eligible non-citizen that's enroled in a certificate program or eligible degree at a college or career school.

You must be an undergraduate student enroled part or full-time, with part-time students receiving a lesser amount in Pell Grant funds.

And primarily you need to be eligible for a federal student aid program, which is determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

The Pell Grant was created in 1972 and it's a financial aid from the federal government awarded by the U.S. Department of Education
