Joe Burrow Returns To Bengals

Joe Burrow Returns to Bengals’ Practice After Appendectomy

The Bengals welcomed Joe Burrow back to practice on Sunday roughly two and a half weeks after the star quarterback underwent surgery to remove his appendix.

Burrow, 25, took the practice field wearing an orange jersey with his helmet in-hand after participating in walkthroughs, according to multiple reports.

The third-year QB’s return comes less than a week after he resumed throwing on Aug. 8, his first activity since undergoing an appendectomy on July 26.

Sunday’s news marks an encouraging step forward for Burrow as he continues to work his way back ahead of the Bengals’ season opener against the Steelers on Sept. 11.

Last week, Bengals coach Zac Taylor informed the media following Burrow’s throwing session that he did not want to place a timetable on his full-time return.

It’s unclear at this time if Burrow, the 2021 Comeback Player of the Year, could see action during the preseason in either of Cincinnati’s two remaining games on Aug. 21 & Aug. 27.
