SRH vs LSG Live Score, TATA IPL 2022: Shepherd removes Pandey while Lucknow loses three in PowerPlay

Hello and welcome to sports stars LIVE coverage of the IPL 2022 match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Lucknow Super Giants from DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.

Shepherd on the attack. Length ball on the stump and Pandey stops it from his hips for punt ball. FOUR! A short length outside and Pandey comes on top of the bounce and pulls it through the center of the wicket and to the fence. SIX! Short again and it bends away on the leg. Pandey pulls it just over the man with his deep square leg for maximum. This one is a better length on a stump and tucked back from his hips by Pandey. FROM!

LSG 17/2 in 4 overs: OUT! Third sweep attempt missed by Lewis, but he won’t survive this time. This was thrown much straighter and hit him straight forward on the thigh. Lewis doesn’t judge it. Evin Lewis lbw b Washington Sundar 1 (5b 0x4 0x6). Pandey is next. He rides the first one and stopped half way at Kane. Four dots in a row while Washington consistently keeps it at a length outside. Goes deep into his crease and pulls to deep center of the wicket for one and keeps hitting.

LSG 16/1 in 3 overs: Bhuvneshwar continues. Set on the stump and Rahul defends. Length ball next out and Rahul pushes it behind point for one. Good Yorker just outside Lewis and he misses it. Lewis wanted to pull this one but wasn’t short enough and ended up stopping it on a square leg for a single. A few more for Rahul; good running between the wickets. FOUR! Too full and wide out and Rahul cuts it to the third man border.

LSG 8/1 in 2 overs: FOUR! Washington will bowl in the PowerPlay. Overloaded on muddle and Rahul passes half way on the front foot for a boundary. When he gets to a length inside him, Rahul backs up and drives through the center of the wicket for a single. de Kock defends this entire delivery to the bowler. FROM! The match-up works in SRH’s favor as De Kock backs up on the leg and tries to go inside out but fails to get the height and Williamson takes it on extra cover. Quinton de Kock and Kane Williamson and Washington Sundar 1(4b 0x4 0x6). Evin Lewis enters and misses the sweep first pitch. Loud call for rejected LBW and ratings from SRH. Bad luck for Washington because the ball clipped in the top center and it is considered an umpiring decision. Lewis survives.

LSG 3/0 in 1 about: KL Rahul and Quinton de Kock walk out to start the innings for Lucknow. Bhuvneshwar Kumar with the new ball. Match number 12 of the Indian Premier League 2022 is headed your way. Two briefs in place. A little form away first ball, just thrown out, and Rahul taps it to point for a dot. Rahul is off the track with a halfway push. De Kock drives straight to the middle. For one, he wiped his pads into a fine bone. Cut to third man for a single and Rahul strikes.

7:26 PM IST: We are moments away from live action. With Bhuvneshwar Kumar likely to start proceedings with the ball, it will be interesting to see if SRH gives Washington Sundar a chance to deal the new ball. With left-handed Quinton de Kock in the fold, the off-spinner was able to ask questions.

After a meek surrender against Rajasthan Royals in the opening game of the Indian Premier League, Sunrisers Hyderabad hopes to come back when it faces Lucknow Super Giants at DY Patil Stadium on Monday.

While the bowling lineup of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Umran Malik and T Natarajan failed to impress, the Hyderabad team also struggled in the hitting division, with none of the top recruits – save Aiden Markram – showing intent.

In an important match, the focus will once again be on captain Kane Williamson and Nicholas Pooran, along with Indian recruits Abdul Samad and Abhishek Sharma. As a consistent unit through the 2020 season, Sunrisers struggled in the final edition of the tournament, finishing at the bottom of the points table, and this time the players must come with a complete, all-round performance to get the team’s campaign back on track, against newcomer Lucknow.

After suffering defeat in the first game against Gujarat Titans, Lucknow saw Chennai defeat Super Kings in his final appearance in a spirited battle show – first by captain KL Rahul and Quinton de Kock, and followed by Evin Lewis and Ayush Badoni.

And once again, all eyes will once again be on the young Badoni, who has taken the tournament by storm with his six-hitting prowess. On the bowling front, Avesh Khan, Sri Lankan Dushmantha Chameera and Ravi Bishnoi must be consistent and disciplined.
