MS Dhoni plays his 200th game for Chennai Super Kings in the IPL.
Royal Challengers Bangalore and Chennai Super Kings face each other in 49th match of IPL 2022, which is played at the MCA International Stadium in Pune. Last IPL season, RCB reached the Eliminator while CSK was the champion. So far this season, RCB has won five and lost five games, while CSK has won three and lost six. Both teams played in Pune twice this season, winning once and losing once. When the teams faced each other earlier this season, Chennai won Super Kings by 23 points.
Royal Challengers Bangalore have their openers Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis out of shape. Although Kohli reached his first fifty in the last game, his strike rate in a losing match raised concerns. At number three, Rajat Patidar, who replaced an out-of-form Anuj Rawat, scored his first fiftieth last game. Glenn Maxwell has been brilliant this season, while Dinesh Karthik and Shahbaz Ahmed, who started the season great, have not done well in the last three games. Wanindu Hasaranga, Josh Hazlewood and Harshal Patel were brilliant with the ball.
CSK had many opening problems this season, but an incredible 182-run tie between Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway should give them confidence in the games to come, to win again. MS Dhoni’s return to captaincy started on a positive note, with a 13 point win against SRH. Dwayne Bravo, Mukesh Choudhary and Maheesh Theekshana were brilliant for them with the ball.
