The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have confirmed the arrival of Australian pacemaker Andrew Tye to the team as Mark Wood’s replacement for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022.
The English express train Mark Wood was bought by the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 mega auction in Bengaluru for INR 7.5 crore. The English pacer suffered an elbow injury during the test match against the West Indies and has been banned from the entire 2022 Indian Premier League.

In the meantime, Andrew Tyewho has been bought for INR 1 crore by LSG, has participated in the 27 Indian Premier League matches and he has managed to take 40 wickets with economy of 8.46 and average of 21.8.
The 35-year-old was previously part of Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Punjab Kings (PBKS), Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Gujarat Lions (GL) in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Also, the Aussie pacer had won the Purple Cap in 2018 IPL for his 24 wickets in 14 appearances for Punjab Kings (then Kings XI Punjab).

On Wednesday, March 23, it was officially confirmed by the Lucknow Super Giants that they have tied the right arm for the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
“Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have signed Andrew Tye to replace injured England pacer Mark Wood,” an official IPL release said.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 is all set to kick off from March 26 and all matches of the league stage will be played in Maharashtra at 4 different venues including Wankhede Stadium, Dy Patil Stadium, Brabourne Stadium and Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium.
Meanwhile, the KL Rahul-led Lucknow Super Giants, who are making their debut in the T20 competition, will begin their campaign against Gujarat Titans (GT) led by Hardik Pandya on March 28 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
