What if Qualifier 1, Eliminator or Qualifier 2 is affected by rain? †

  • The Super Over should start at 12:50 PM to end these matches.
  • In the scenario where the Super Over is also not possible, the team that has finished highest in the ranking after the 70 games of the regular season will be declared the winner of the relevant play-off game or final.
  • For the two Qualifiers and the Eliminator, who do not have a spare day, the DLS method is applied to determine the game result if one inning is completed, but the second is affected by rain and no play is possible.

Rules for the final-

  • The IPL also pointed out that if the final were to start on May 29 (at least one ball will be bowled), but were not completed on the original day, the match would be closed on the reserve day.
  • The match will resume from the point where it stopped the previous day. To be clear, recalculations of the match made without the match actually restarting the previous night will be ignored.
  • In the event that no play can be played after the final toss, the teams will be awarded a new toss on the reserve day.
  • The IPL said the reserve day will include the same amount of playing time – five hours and 20 minutes including the two extra hours available in the event of disruption or rain.
  • In the event of a final, the Super Over should start at 1:20 am
